The plays
Country Matters - Hamlet’s famous euphemism for the more intimate side of human relationships - is the theme for the six plays this season, all of which deal with affairs of the heart. In its own particular way, each play explores how love (and occasionally lust!) affects the way we think, behave and view the world around us.

  • Wild Honey (Anton Chekhov)
  • She Stoops to Conquer (Oliver Goldsmith)
  • Habeas Corpus (Alan Bennett)
  • Arcadia (Tom Stoppard)
  • Heartbreak House (George Bernard Shaw)
  • Outlying Islands (David Greig).
